MAN continues relationship with Triple Eight Race Engineering and new team sponsor Red Bull Racing Australia.

Continuing its successful partnership which commenced in 2010, MAN Automotive Imports, distributor of MAN trucks & buses, will continue to support Triple Eight Race Engineering as the ‘Official Transporter’ for the 2013 V8 Supercar season.

This year Triple Eight have entered a new sponsorship arrangement with Red Bull Racing Australia.

Triple Eight are the reigning V8 champions after a particularly successful season in 2012 finishing in the 1-2 position with drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes respectively.

MAN’s association and support of this winning team involves fulfilling an important role within the Brisbane-based team.

Two MAN TGX prime movers are tasked with ensuring the Red Bull Racing and Triple Eight Race Engineering new Holden VF Commodores tour the country reliably, safely and comfortably to and from each event.

The two prime movers are TGX 540 models that are ideally suited to the long haul work they will be required to do.

“Renewing our MAN Agreement was a very important consideration given the presentation levels that we envisaged Red Bull Racing Australia require this year,” comments Peter Jamieson, Commercial Operations Manager Triple Eight Race Engineering. “Our new TGX’s certainly look the part, plus our truckies love the power, particularly up the Toowoomba range! We simply cannot recommend highly enough our MAN’s and the service we receive.”

One of the most technologically advanced trucks on the market, the TGX 540 features a 4-valve, 6-cylinder, in-line engine with common rail injection, turbocharging and intercooling, providing an impressive 540hp and 2,500Nm torque.

“With its combination of high power, outstanding ride characteristics and a low tare weight the TGX really is the ideal truck for the task,” said MAN General Manager, Marketing, Don Hanson.

Featuring the latest in active and passive safety features the TGX includes a built-in crumple zone, the latest cabin ergonomics, disc brakes all round, Anti Lock Braking system (ABS) and a state of the art Electronic Brakeforce System (EBS) which ensures a shorter emergency stopping distance.

“MAN is proud of the association with Triple Eight Race Engineering and Red Bull Racing Australia. As with Triple Eight, MAN has a long and storied history of exceptional engineering as well as a history of supporting motorsport worldwide,” Mr Hanson added.
